Shane McKay was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He earned a B.A. in English at the University of Washington, where he graduated cum laude, and received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has helped indigent persons defend against eviction and unfair debt collection practices. He’s done pro-bono work helping underinsured fire victims.
During law school, he received a grant for public interest legal work. Mr. McKay has practiced law for over a decade and has five years of experience in California Workers’ Compensation. He began his legal career as a public defender and spent some years running his own criminal and civil law practice.
Mr. McKay has an in-depth knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, both from an applicant and defense perspective, makes him a valuable asset for Pacific Workers’ clients. He is passionate about the outdoors. In his free time, he runs, hikes, and coaches a soccer team. He specially loves spending time with his family and creating new memories.
